Basic Concepts of Electromagnetics.

Let us start one of toughest subject that really student feel .

Before gone start we should understand some basic concepts of vectors which we have studied in 12 standard.

DOT Product :

Next question will be what is the physical meaning of this . This is nothing but the projection of vetor A on B vector . Practically you can understand in this way when shadow of one object fall on the another.


CROSS Product :


We will see the physical meaning of this , this can see be understood with simple example , imagine you have one vector in x plane and another in y plane , if we rotate this xy plane i will get the resultaant vector in Z plane. For eg practical is rotating a screw, if you rotate a screw in x-y plane , then result will be movement of screw in z plane plane. Here the n(cap) will tell you the direction of resultant.

Lets go ahead and understand  the concept of gradient , curl and divergence which form the basis for the electromagetics.

Gradient : Gradient of any scalar is will be a vector quantity .
First what is scalar quantity , it is nothing but field that have only magnitude but not direction for temperture etc.
